The Equine Psychotherapy Institute was founded by Meg Kirby in 2011. Meg has worked as a psychotherapist and social worker for more than 20 years. In her 30s, she fell in love with horses and was keen to find a way to work with horses in her practice. The EPI Model is a unique and comprehensive psychotherapy model, which includes training in psychotherapy principles, theory and practice. It is an Australian model that is relational, mindful, ethical, effective, and deeply respectful of clients, horses and practitioners.
Regardless of previous experience with, or absence of experience with horses, interactions with the herd are presented in a safe and supported way. Rachael, in partnership with the herd will guide your self-empowering journey. Rachael and her ponies offer you help to explore your own coping patterns and emotional regulating skills and assist you on your personal development and growth journey.
South Burnett Equine Assisted Learning and personal development programs provide an opportunity to re-connect with the here and now and allow clients to place their attention on how they make meaning of their world and experiences.
If you have questions about the opportunities available to you in our programs, feel free to send us a message. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
